Looking for a new moderator...

Thu Dec 9, 2004, 4:56 AM
As many of you are aware, I nor Jahac have updated this account in a LONG time. I don't have alot of time anymore nor does Jahac. As such, I am looking to pass on the account to someone else who is willing to have a daily commitment to the club. I cannot speak for Jahac, but I would remain on as a mod only in the administrative sense, dealing with larger issues, talking to admins, and the occasional journal update. The admin I would need is someone who can update at least every week, update new members when needed, and generally just be a active presence on the site. Any who are interested, note me at .

I was misidentified as a nazi supporter, the ones you mentionedhere in your journals...I was even associated with them because of my avatar...but I defended my swastika to them and they finally realized i am nopt what they think i am...im a christian baptist a surrealist in the fine arts and i have no hatred or whatever to other races in this community...i want to express my support to you guys against these neo-nazi's that only functions to spread words of evil...

Consider me on board for the good struggle :)

I am very interesting in formulating a comprehesive submission to kick the NAZIs off dA. A cultural argument, rather than a political one. An argument which demonstrates that NAZIs are the arch enemies of all creative artists and so have no place on dA.

Pushing holocaust denial on dA does conflict with the spirit of admin's guidleines. We have to make them realise that.

Some detailed refereces to attacks on internet freedom by NAZIs of all flavors may be of use.

I am interested in setting up a memorial to all the artists (in the broard sense of the term) persecuted or murdered by NAZIs throughout history, even if it is just a simple list of names with external links.

What would removing Deviants with Nazi beliefs accomplish?
You could argue that "NAZIs are the arch enemies of all creative artists and so have no place on dA" but what's to stop other groups doing the same to other minorities.
What's to stop (for example) religious extremists from proclaiming that since homosexuality is an abomination to God, that therefore all art by them is also wicked, and then creating their own petition to remove all the gay/bi/lesbian communities and deviants from dA?
Inevitably it all comes down to numbers.
If the majority of people agree with you than the nazi%u2019s would be removed.
But what if it was the other way around?
If white supremacists populated dA, they could kick us out.
If Christian extremists populated dA, they could kick homosexuals out.
If George Bush supporters populated dA, they could kick out anyone who spoke against him.
If pink fluffly pom-pom lovers populated dA, they could kick out anyone who liked blue fluffy pom-poms (???).

DA encourages diversity, and that%u2019s one of the best things about this place.
If a Nazi (or anyone else) started flaming the boards then the moderators would kick them off, and rightly so.
But as long as everyone is willing to keep the peace I don%u2019t have a problem with them staying. I may not agree with them but that doesn%u2019t mean they should be removed.

If you feel the need to remove Nazi%u2019s from dA, then the answer is to talk to them.
Try and get them to re-evaluate their beliefs.
Yes, you%u2019ll come across people who simply refuse to listen, and you%u2019ll find people who meet sensible arguments with dogmatic drivel. But you%u2019ll also meet people who are willing to let you have your say as long as you allow them theirs.

It may take a long time to convince even just one person, but kicking the Nazi%u2019s of dA doesn%u2019t solve anything.
It%u2019s like sweeping them under the rug, just because you can%u2019t see them doesn%u2019t mean they%u2019re not there.

Yeah... word is a bitch! Thank you for your comprehensive comments. I respect your argument. It makes perfect sense to me.
I have been thinking about an educational approach to the problem. i have decided to demonstrate to people just how bad totalitarians can be for creative artists.
